Romans 12:21 “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
The way Paul starts this verse means we can be overcome by evil. Isn’t this world evil? Have you watched any news lately? Sometimes, you may feel like giving up. After all, the Psalmist wrote “For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked (Psalm 73:3)”, “Lord, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph? (Psalm 94:3)”. Let this devotion be encouragement. Not only the way Paul starts this verse means we can be overcome by evil…the second part reminds us we can overcome evil! Go do some good today, and watch evil be overcome.
